Become a volunteer!
If you have time to spare or are looking to help your community then become a volunteer. This is very rewarding and you will get to meet new people and make new friends in the Bishopdale area. Get to know your neighbours!
If you would like to join the team and enjoy the friendship and sense of satisfaction from making a valued contribution to the community, contact us on 03 359 1741 or email email@example.com
Volunteers can become involved in roles such as:
Hosts for morning teas and lunches
Drivers for explorers club van trips
Celebrate Bishopdale! and other community events
Tutoring or convening classes or groups
Bread collection and delivery
Fundraising activities and events
Helping to maintain Sundbye House
Soup making and baking
Sausage Sizzle Volunteers
Sausage Sizzles are held regularly outside of Mitre 10 Bishopdale on Harewood Road from 9:00am - 3:00pm to raise funds.
Bread Collection and Delivery
We’re looking for volunteers to pick up bread from Northlands Mall on a Sunday evening (7pm) and then deliver it to a local school and BCT on a Monday morning.
Pick up and delivery requires two to work together so retired couples or flatmates would be ideal. The time commitment is approximately two hours, once every six weeks.
Calling all soup makers
Would you be prepared to make a pot of soup once a term? If so, could you bring it along to the trust, so that we can freeze it for our winter community lunches? We are able to assist with finances for this. Please contact Nicky, House Coordinator on 359 1741 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer winter and Christmas lunches
The Bishopdale Community Trust has two lunches each year to honour and thank our volunteers for the excellent work that they do. There is a great atmosphere, friendship, chatter, delicious food and scumptous deserts!
